I have been working at Vanderbilt University Medical Center full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Lots of area discounts, the ability to work in a collaborative atmosphere, amazing science. Core facilities are a great resource. Nashville is a great place to live, and graduate student stipends go far here.

Cons

None, really. It's a great graduate program and Vanderbilt's reputation will help when you're ready to move on. Lots of grad students tend to stay on once they've defended, so it might be hard for someone outside of Vanderbilt to get a post-doc position. Lots of the faculty and drs. also went to school here--kind of neat and obviously they liked Vanderbilt enough to stay, but it can also seem a bit cliquish.

Advice to ManagementAdvice
