I have been working at Vanguard full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

great crew, dedicated management, huge focus on diversity, community, education, etc. You will succeed here if you know how to work here, what the management is looking for, and if you know how to flaunt your competencies at year end.

Cons

compensation could be upped in terms of take home -- I don't need the gym services, dry cleaning, etc. Also, there are literally like 15 gardeners for 4 buildings. It's strange to see such a huge focus and money spent on desert landscaping. Also, carpool parking is not plentiful enough.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

re-evaluate compensation more focus on pay-grade adjustments.

I worked at Vanguard full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Young atmosphere, most new hires coming straight out of college. Experience not a must.

    Cons

Limited mobility. Management positions are not really manger positions. It's an atmosphere of everyone takes control of there own career. Make sure you like to volunteer, constantly be solicited for money for united way and aren't scared of needles because I was always asked to give blood 4x a year to get an hour off the phones.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go public and start running the company like a real business.

I have been working at Vanguard full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Clean workplace
    Good location (Scottsdale)
VU university is good for the most part (classes)
Food (Galley) is OK for company food
    Bathrooms are clean (usually).

    Cons

-Terribly mismanaged company after the old CEO left.
-Diversity of sex, ethnicity take precedence over diligence in hiring decisions in all departments.
-Highly attractive girls (not woman) get catered to in most departments by the male supervisors/managers that never had a date in college (empty-less suits as one Flagship client said).
-No upward mobility unless you have a second face and drink kool-aid every meal and brainwash yourself.
-Strong democratic/liberal political presence in all department management.
-Goodluck paying your cost of living and having anything left over.
-Maybe you can retire by the time your 90 even with Vanguards own calculations.
-Anonymous surveys about employee satisfaction on a monitored PC is crazy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To senior staff: This company is turning into the USPS. Good job (money talks) brainwashing everyone that you all live hand to mouth like everyone else in the company... I know people would be shocked if you disclosed your pay. Eventually though they're going to figure out actions speak louder than words and your just using your people as disposable assets, not investments.
