Water cooler chats are the only thing to look forward to here because the things that happen are so outrageous.

Pros

Some nice co-workers Excellent location if you take the train to North Station Some travel benefits A small gym on site

Cons

Turnover is constant, so you're always training new employees. Typically, those in upper management get fired and the grunts quit. No matter how smart or competent you are, if you're important enough, or sometimes even if you're not, expect to get yelled at by the owner at some point. Don't expect raises. Don't get caught with headphones on even if you listen to music to avoid distraction. Those nice co-workers can at times be not so nice to work with due to the culture. (amazing how much a toxic work environment can change people, you know?) The owner is all about numbers so if you're performance cannot be quantified, you'll be viewed as worthless. If you smoke, you're viewed as vile by the owner, so don't get caught. And expect a nicotine test. 8 am company meetings with attendance taken. Frequent weekend work for some departments.

Advice to Management

Good luck. Very few in upper management last. Have seen certain people last just weeks. If you make it a year, its a significant achievement. Then again, you'll wonder if it's a good thing or a bad thing that you're still there.

    Pros

Good location, close to TD Garden.

    Cons

The most unhealthy environment I have ever worked in. The finance management discriminated against certain ethnic groups. There were no processes or procedures at all in place. The turnover rate is around 80 percent in all departments even HR. There is no IT department and all data coming out of system is incorrect which makes for extra work. Everyone is scared of getting fired and you will if you complain about anything that your manager is doing on your weekly info report that your suppose to complain about issues without having repercussions. Do not trust or confide in anyone!!!!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Stop kissing the owners you know what. Your employees are why you are working don't forget that.

    Pros

-Location -Some of the co-workers -promotion of good health (physical, not mental) -Great product -Advanced reporting, in a few areas -Very intelligent CC support staff, somewhat surprised they aren't working some where better

    Cons

-Attrition is insanely horrible; I lost 4 members of my staff in my first 2 months -many dishonest, and disingenuous co-workers that appear to be a good friend -Most of the reporting is inaccurate which leads to many additional hours spent working on reports, mainly due to an non-existent IT department -Poor communication by VP, who would rather hide from issues than attempt to find a solution. -Too much office politics; if you don't get along with the owners allies, then you're as good as gone. Be careful who you confide in. -There are many valuable employees that are never given a chance to maximize their potential -The expectations/goals are often unrealistic -The Call Center VP fails to properly develop/mentor support staff, throws them into the fire and watches while they struggle -The owner is a brilliant person, but lacks patience and makes many knee-jerk decisions.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes you have to takes two steps back in order to take twenty steps forward. This company truly has the potential to be extraordinary, however there isn't any patience to make it happen. Between the employees and some of the technology, Vantage really can be taken to a higher level. Instead of treating employees with disrespect, give them the respect they deserve as human beings. This can be the difference between them regretfully walking through the doors everyday and them willing to "run through walls" for the company.
