Vavrinek, Trine, Day & Co., LLP – “VTD - A stepping stone at best.”
1 of 1 people found this helpfulPros
VTD gives a decent benefit plan with the opportunity to have a fair amount of weeks paid vacation. Most people in the work place are friendly to your face, but don't expect them to be saying the same things when you aren't around. The professionalism when dealing with clients is at a high level, but falls off quickly when clients are not around. However, weigh these benefits carefully against the downsides of working for VTD before jumping in with both feet.
Cons
The time spent slaving away for 'the man' during busy season as an auditor is not reflected in the compensation received for employees below the supervisor position. The professionalism when dealing with clients is at a high level, but falls off quickly when clients are not around. If you are a person which high moral value it is probably best that you do not get caught up in the atomosphere of inappropriate behavior exemplified by VTD employees and management alike.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep the workplace professional. It is okay to joke around, but there is a very defined line of what is inappropriate to joke about at work. Plan better when it comes to work loads and hirings. Just because a job is within the budget doesn't mean it is a good job. Review the workload that you are putting on those below you before just assuming that they can handle what is being asked of them.
