Current Employee - Receptionist in Fort Myers, FL

I have been working at Vector Marketing part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-Paid more than minimum wage, opportunities for raises and bonuses almost weekly
    -The work is not hard
    -Managers appreciate you
    -Good, positive atmosphere

    Cons

-Managers are not always cut out for the job, and so offices often get closed down without a lot of notice.
-No guaranteed work past the summer
-No guarantee of a lot of hours. Obviously the best workers get the most hours, but you definitely couldn't support a family on this income alone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We are NOT "receptionists." We are RECRUITERS. I wish they would change the job title because the word "receptionist" makes it sound like we do so much less than we do, and changing the job title would help with resume building.

I worked at Vector Marketing part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You'll have sharp knives throughout your friends and families' houses.

    Cons

This shouldn't even be considered a job. Anyone who applies is "hired" and tasked with selling expensive knives to their friends and families. I say "hired" because technically you are an independent contractor, so you receive no benefits. There are no scheduled hours. Training is unpaid. They put you through 2 days of brainwash-- umm I mean "training" where they tell you you can win fabulous prizes and become rich if you alienate your family by forcing them to buy knives so you can get a cut. They mostly prey on naive high school and college students by offering "student work at $15/hour". Well, the $15 you make for the knife-selling appointment isn't enough to recoup on overhead costs of wasting your free (unpaid) time making appointments, finding transportation, or gas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Go seek honest work.
