I have found that success in this job depends on demographics, and how well you know people around the community.

Current Employee - Sales Representative in Richmond, VA
Current Employee - Sales Representative in Richmond, VA

I have been working at Vector Marketing part-time (less than an year)

Pros

The managers will help you out whenever they can and are really interested in seeing you do well, especially if you have initiative. With the proper mindset, it's very easy to make it far with Vector. You get lots of perks as well

Cons

I'd say the main cons is that you have to start off with your friends and family, which can be a little annoying to them. In order to really be successful you have to put in a lot more work than other people, but the pay out is worth it.

    Pros

They give you the script and tools to sell the product and are helpful with trying to maximize orders and technique depending on who the manager is. Learning how to adapt to situations with people off-script has helped in other jobs. Make it easy to build confidence because you get your first promotions within the first week. Base pay plus commission means you get paid no matter what. Paid every week.

    Cons

You always feel like you're scamming people. The product is great and practically sells itself, but there is so much pressure to hit up every person you know and convince them to buy although you know it isn't something they need. "Work your own schedule" really means come in at 8 to make phone calls, go on appointments all day, come back to make phone calls and go home some time around 9 unless you have real obligations.
