Pros

If you sell at a high rate and work there for a long time you can earn a somewhat decent salary.

Cons

You have to start at the bottom and work at very little risk to them as they only pay you if you get appointments where by pure odds you are going to sell enough to make it worth $10 in commission.

Vector was a pretty fun place to work despite their pushy way of doing things

    Pros

You get a lot of Sales Training and it's a very laid back place to work. Also it looks good on your resume because a lot of companies recognize Vector to have a great training program. Not only that but you get paid regardless of sales so their isn't any pressure to get them unless you want a heavier pocket.

    Cons

Selling products. Not everyone is looking for knives and the ones that are know there are plenty of brands to choose from. So you have to understand that and convince your clients why they should consider yours.

Making big sales has to do a lot with who you know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Explain to your team why it's important to treat their job like it's their own business. Because in a lot of ways it is. They're going out booking appointments and presenting Cutco on their own.

I worked at Vector Marketing as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, you make your own schedule essentially. Had great managers that wanted us to succeed, and if you stick with it long enough you get great sales skills and great commission.

    Cons

Definitely not for everybody. You need to be comfortable talking on the phone and in-person with strangers to get the sale. After you get moved up to full commission, it can be stressful to get a sale as your pay rides completly on that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have the new reps do tons of role playing so they're comfortable with the pitch.
