I worked at Vector Marketing part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Great place for personal growth if you're interested in sales; especially helpful if you have great social contacts.

Cons

Hiring ads are misleading, the premise of the salary/job itself is misleading until you attend orientation. Expect your mileage to go up significantly since you'll be visiting potentials clients homes. If you don't have a nice list of at least 25 contacts be prepared for a struggle.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be exceptionally helpful if on the website advertisements, it was specified what being a sales representative for Cutco actually means.

    Pros

    I was offered $15 per appointment if i didn't make a sale.
The sales presentation is given to you word for word.
    Quality product

    Cons

DO NOT count on company refferals. Your first day of training you are asked to write a list of people you will sell to. Their names and contact info. This will be where your sales originate from. If you cant write enough contacts in your booklet that day, you will be asked to leave.

Also think about this: you make only 10% commision your first $1,000 worth of sales. It then increases to 15% at $1,000 to $3,000 in sales. The managers make commision off of your sales so... the more commision you make on your sales the less your managers are going to make over time.

This leads me to believe your simply being used for initial contacts and easy money for the managers unitl your commision goes up, and theres goes down. Although I have not seen proof of this.
