I have been working at Vencore full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Close working relationship with immediate managers. Cool to work with satellite technology. Interesting to work for a relatively young company.

Cons

Upper management is greatly disconnected with front line managers and their workers. Company treats people like a number as if the company were a large company. Immediate management is disgruntled towards upper management because they can't tell them what is really going on with the company as this isn't what upper management wants to hear. Upper management doesn't follow their own rules and regulations. High turnover of people especially those with 3 to 10 years of working experience. Company is very top heavy. Pay isn't comparable with similar companies for level 2's and 3's generally leave making about 20k more a year. Results of company surveys are seldom listened to nor disseminated to employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recommend listening to the people who work within the company, and stop ignoring the facts just because they are not what you want to hear.

I have been working at Vencore full-time

    Pros

With the recent divestiture from a major defense contractor and becoming a stand-alone company, The SI has the genetic makeup of a big player. The area of work The SI focuses on is dynamic and growing. Opportunity vibrates at The SI !

    Cons

There is a general feel of being like a Chihuahua - a small dog with a big dog attitude. Many functionalities seemed ingrained in the 'old' LMCO behaviors. Functional groups within The SI need to adapt a more dynamic fluid momentum and stop plodding along in LMCO's big ill-fitting shoes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Educate management levels in all of the SI functions they will touch; for example, capture managers should fully understand the processes and functions of *all* teaming support organizations, not just contracts and finance...and so on.
