    Pros

Good exposure to the working of a large corporation for those who are capable of seeing the bigger picture

    Cons

Easy to feel unrecognized. Decisions are based on business needs only. One needs to be prepared for that - not for everybody.

    I worked at Ventyx

    Pros

The only pros to this job have absolutely nothing to do with the company but rather the random assortment of people I found myself working with. Due to many acquisitions of an assortment of different companies, one may find themselves on a team with some really great individuals. Unfortunately, Ventyx hates employees and everyone that is worth anything eventually leaves.

    Cons

Ventyx is only capable of two things acquiring good companies and deflating their culture until the legacy employees leave out of desperation; and managing a balance sheet to make the company look profitable/viable even though everyone is worked to the point of extreme dissatisfaction and empty positions are rarely filled except by under qualified, entry-level people. Ventyx is also incapable of listening to the marketplace either through the stubborn attitudes of product managers or due to the lack of sufficient engineering resources. Ventyx employees are never paid what they are worth and there is a very high turnover rate. Because raises/promotions are rare, it is not uncommon for employees to jump ship quickly. And when they do leave, they usually receive a base salary that is 20-30% more than when at Ventyx.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start caring about your employees and their satisfaction. Pay your people what they are worth or they will continue to leave. Listen to what your employees and customers are telling you. You have no experience in running a successful software company, only managing a balance sheet for the purpose of being purchased by a larger company. There are a lot of smart people that work at Ventyx, listen to them and what they're telling you they want and the marketplace needs. Stop focusing on org charts and empower your people to do what it takes to satisfy the customer. If you aren't going to do that, shut the company down so the talent that is present can find meaningful employment elsewhere.
