Verizon – “The job has its ups and downs and it can change on a dime”
Pros
For the most part the people are great. I believe the health benefits are pretty good in comparison to what other companies offer.
Cons
Expecting you to be able to keep up with everything in your base when you are also needed to actively participate in conference calls seven out of eight hours of the day. Keep in mind that you are double and triple booked for many time slots during the day but make sure you are on top of everything. Also, they expect you to know everything about every product out that they offer. They have a resource called Insite that is supposed to tell you everything but it is pretty much all geared towards the sales team. Also, it is next to impossible to find what you are looking for on this internal website.
Advice to Senior Management
Requiring employees to be on IM is counter productive when the expectation is that when management contacts you that you drop everything and respond.
