Pros

The salary is good. The benefits is good. The vacation time is good.

Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like emotionless robots and try acting like human beings.

I worked at Verizon as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    You get a paycheck periodically.

    Cons

Focus is on short-term ROI. No long-term strategy, or if there is one, it's not communicated. Even so, what communication there is is top-down. Two classes of workers: 1. Old timers from GTE days hanging on for retirement. 2. Contractors used up and discarded. Diversity? I'm all for diversity, but this is like stepping into India.

    Advice to Management

Continue treating your workforce as a commodity and reap the consequences.
