I have been working at Verizon full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Pay and benefits are the only pros.

    Cons

Terrible culture. Micro-managing. Zero advancement. Biased treatment. Written policies interpreted in what ever way benefits management the most at that point in time. Employees do not get credit for their work. Ethics issues are swept under the rug. Employees are kept in constant fear that they will be RIFd.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management needs an overhaul.

I have been working at Verizon full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Compensation is inline with industry average

    Cons

    - Pressure to boost short-term earnings at the expense of long-term value creation
    - Constant reduction in force keeps employee moral low
    - No promotion opportunities do to the constant layoffs and keeping things status quo

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Direct focus to your employee's. A happy workforce will drive shareholder value and innovation. An employee isn't going to innovate or give it 100% if they fear they will be let go in a few months due to reduction in force.
