    I worked at Verizon full-time

    Pros

Excellent pay, health care, yearly bonus, vacation and personal time.
Most management was professional and very willing to work with me when personal problems began interfering with my work life.
Open-door policy always helpful; management (including senior) always willing to talk.
Work ended once I was off the clock and never interfered with my personal life.

    Cons

Just really stressful work that wasn't suited to my strengths and skills.

I worked at Verizon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The best, most dedicated people, good pay and benefits, very pleasant work environment. My entire department was laid off over 2007-2008, but I'd go back in a second, if it were geographically feasible.

    Cons

Upper management disconnected from the rank and file; they missed out on a lot of creative ideas. Too many pointless meetings and conference calls.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to listen to your employees. You're missing out on a lot of innovative ideas.
