I have been working at Verizon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits including tuition assistance.

    Cons

Too many family members in the Indian community that hook each other up. It's become a family business and promotions tend to go to the family.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Practice good ethics... if you see two brothers that are managers under the same director, its doesn't get any more obvious than that. Or you see that a director's wife works for one of his hiring managers, you should not encourage that.

I worked at Verizon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent training, lots of ability for lateral moves

    Cons

always restructuring for process improvements without understanding the impact to the overall business and customers. chooses to RIF instead of utilizing existing talents. concentrates on upper tier customers putting all others at risk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR management should actively seek to redeploy existing long term talent (which has been highly trained at corporate expense) instead of allowing them to be RIF'ed

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
