I have been working at Verizon full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Great company, opportumity for advancement, flexibility in hours, great products.

Cons

Undergoing transformation, need to be able to embrace change.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lean more on underlying employees for advice on transformation, versus weighting too heavily on external consultants.

I worked at Verizon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. They treat employees well and working conditions are very good. There products and services are very competitive and the company is financially stable and successful.

    Cons

Landlines are dying off but wireless and business services are their strengths. If you are on the wireline side, you're probably going to see less job availability and smaller raises/bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep kicking AT&T's butt. But don't take lightly the great job your employees are going.

I worked at Verizon full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Extremely diversified products and services offerings. If the deal makes business sense, Verizon can find a way to get almost any job done.

    Cons

Many different companies make up Verizon, which means many different legacy systems to deal with. Some of the systems do not communicate well together, which can mean delays in getting proposals to clients in a timely manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline the quoting process and get the systems to communicate and tie in to eachother more seamlessly.
