Former Employee - Systems Engineer in Irving, TX

I worked at Verizon as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Its a non professional work environment, and things were really flexible for me, as i was able to work from home if i decide to.

    Cons

My manager did not include me in the team project, rather he created a project for me, and i was not opportuned to work with the team and gain some good experience. i think this problem was just with my manager alone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the management should communicate effectively with the managers so that interns would be involved into on going team projects.

I have been working at Verizon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

great benefits and great pay. pay is based on experience and education. increases with time. the money is the biggest incentive

    Cons

no type of moral building for the employees. Although there are sales incentives, they don't compare to the lack of compassion toward their employees. Managers tend not to be very helpful when you need it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen more to your employees, find out what makes them happy and will motivate them the most.
