    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Great people who are doing good work and succeeding at what they are doing. It's good to be a part of a successful project and company.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic, occassionally top-heavy, very political. that's probably true of all big companies but it's especially true at Verizon. Often times personalities and politics get in the way of projects.

    Advice to Management

Reign in the egos and personal agendas a bit, to get everyone working to the same task and direction. It's a large company but it is possible to shed some of the infighting and bureaucracy.

  2. Exciting opportunities to work on some major projects

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

If you report to the right senior manager, you can find yourself working on some major projects. In my brief stay of 1.5 years, I did due diligence on a $20 mm software unit, played a pivotal role on their major investment and evaluated a $1 billion business case investment.

    Cons

The biggest obstacle is the lack of information sharing between different units. Everyone is trying their best to protect their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Reduce buearacracy and let talent rise to the top. I found that, below the director level, the talent was awful. Even some directors were quite incompetent.
