Pros

Hard work, weird hours in the beginning. Annual raises, GREAT BONUSES but high turnover because of unrealistic demands and constant company changes and restructuring that leaves you demoted at times. Cafe, gym, but its a sess pool of management sleeping with staff and its not what you know but who know to get ahead. Time off is flexible.

Cons

Management management management...poor...most suffer from ADHD. Will require alot of patience dealing with incompetent superiors. Gossipers and children who dress like adults.

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits, good company on your resume

    Cons

Customers always upset, hard to obtain sales goals, constant change within company with little notice, every month a new area of focus (some with no compensation but a stressful attainment level)

    Advice to Management

Learn the company inside and out before taking a management position, treat employees with respect and care, make everyone feel theyre a team

  2. Beneficial professional experience, long tiring hours with extreme micromanagement and stress.

    Pros

Verizon wireless offers a superb benefits package providing medical, dental, and vision health insurance and 401k with matching. The training provided is very through and extensive. Working in for this company will definitely shape you into an experienced business professional and there are several rewarding aspects that stem from working with this company.

    Cons

On the contrary, work hours are extreme (45-60 hours per week.) Representatives are required to remain standing all day and are extremely micromanaged. Management can become extremely pressured to the extent they can add much undue pressure to perform. This can be too much for some individuals to deal with when they must already hit quotas to remain at this position. Additionally, there is NO work/life balance whatsoever. Personal time off is frowned down upon.

Verizon Wireless is a very demanding job, however there are several benefits to remaining with the company. It all comes down to personal priorities.

    Advice to Management

Leadership can be wonderful or horrible depending on the management. Representatives preform better in an environment where they are supported and encouraged and coached accordingly. No human being benefits from being micromanaged and belittled. The success of the store/district will ultimately depend on how you treat your employees (they are human beings, not animals or children.)
