I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Benefits - medical, dental, annual raises, and tuition assistance. Flexing schedule and of course STI

Cons

Having a tech rep selling products (upgrades), we are there to fix their problem not sell devices. Outsourcing to much and not having the outsource reps with the same standard as VZW employees. Customer voices are no longer heard. Employee phone plan should be a lot better. Suppose to follow the "credo" -- haven't seen that done in years. Its just a nice thing to say the company has - lost sight of what the company "was"

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so greedy, focus inward, your employees and customers are frustrated - listen to complaints and take it seriously. Without good employees and customers, the company will decline.

    Pros

    very good wages and benefits and generally the employee talent is very good.good tuition reimbursement. good bonuses and paid time off

    Cons

    extremely poor processes and survey based performance evaluation that causes extreme amounts of stress and health issues as well as poor morale. poor training and policies are selectively enforced and driven by political correctness that causes dysfunctional work processes.

    realize that spinning reality is not the same as truly valuing and respecting employees as real human beings and assets

    Good company, but needs help in advancement for retail employees that are not in sales.

    Pros

    Benefits, school tuition, and great diversity within the leadership.

    Cons

    For retail, the hours can suck. Also, it's like you have to be in sales to advance within the retail sector. Not everyone wants to be a sales rep, or manager, etc. I've been trying to get into corporate or lost a year and it seems as though positions that are posted require you to have previous knowledge of certain systems that we in retail do not use, such as ACSS. It makes progressing very difficult.

    Please provide positions, and other avenues for those retail employees who are not interested in sales or retail management to advance.
