    Pros

excellent compensation, good advancement opportunities if you know the right people

    Cons

work/life balance is nearly non existent in retail management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time appreciating your employees and managers who dedicate 90% of their life to running your multi-billion dollar business. Get rid of the politics in decisions around promotions and base it around performance rather than politics-and this is coming from someone who DID get promoted.

Current Employee - Major Account Manager  in  Houston, TX
Current Employee - Major Account Manager in Houston, TX

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great earning potential.
    Excellent product support.
Outstanding internal support by customer service specialists.
Wonderful bonus trips available to all top sales representatives.

    Cons

Very high pressure to sell. Each month is considered a new round...not much credit is given for past performances. Commission structure is changed a little too often to suit the company. If sales go up, commission structure is modified to pay salespeople a little less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the commission structure paying at a high level. Afterall, without great salespeople, the company would not be as successful as it is. Provide solid customer service support for account managers.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
