I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Good benefits.
Hundreds of locations.
Average pay for all sales, customer service, & management roles.

Cons

You are a asset of the company rather than an asset to the company.
Ridiculous quotas and low commissions with full charge-backs.
You have no say in anything.
Management changes every six months, because they all get fired, so stay in sales or customer service.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay people better and quit changing quotas every single month. Give people a bigger chunk of that $9 billion in profits you made in 2011.

    Pros

    Professional environment
    Great Benefits
    Good leadership
    Yearly bonuses and raises
    Career advancement
    Awesome Pay

    Cons

some of the things management expects of employees is ridiculous
they want you to say more and more to the customers but take more calls have lower stats they want perfection

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should put themselves on the phones for a bit. Maybe then they can set some more realistic goals for metrics. Sometimes you cannot keep customers on the phone and fix their problem. I don't know how many times I would have the help the customer but they had to go. Their bill was a mess or something and I would have to ruin my stats and get into trouble all just because I was going above and beyond for a customer. Decide one or the other you either want to provide great customer service or you want to take calls and fast as possible. Also quite coming up with more and more fees to charge customers it just makes them unhappy to say the least.
