    I have been working at Verizon Wireless part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    *They have been extremely generous in working with my full-time school schedule
    *They have excellent benefits
    *The pay is extremely competitive for an entry level position that does not require a college degree
    *The retail sales representative position is very much self-driven position; you get out of it what you put into it
    * Continuous training and education is provided
    *There are changes within the company that are made to reflect the ever changing customer needs

    Cons

    *After expressing desires to continue to build my career with Verizon just in a corporate setting, it's been hard to find someone who is genuinely interested in discussing with me how I can do so.
    *Managers can be hounded by upper management, which causes them distress and in turn the entire retail team can feel the same distress.

    I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    great pay if your good in sales, a lot of room for growth, you can make your own schedule, if you time manage properly you wiill not have to put in over 50 hrs a week, great benefits and incentives if you want it bad enough, work smart not hard and you will see your rewards

    Cons

    - very clicky
    - if your not "in" the click then you will not survive the company and no room for growth
    - very aggressive environment if your not use to commission sales and constant changes in KPIs
    - some senior management will never change their style in management or evolve to better tactics (ex. lack of communication, "old school" values, god complex)
    - some core values do not mean the same to those in powerful positions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    utilize positive coaching. maintain training skills needed as a manager to better communicate with your employees, do not play favorites and pass up a good hard working employee because of "your" inconveniences.
