Vzw was like being paid to get punched in the face every day. Sometimes it was worth it and sometimes not

Pros

Good benefits and decent money, paid holidays & time off, lots of room for advancement

Cons

Not a ton of support & understanding. You were definitely a number in corporate world. Managers were instructed constantly on acting politically correct & caring but most were bad actors. You were moved to any location within 50 miles on a whim. Lot of unnecessary and time consuming "checking" and initiating.

Advice to Management

When ur employees are struggling or expected to do too much, fight for them...... Corporate management, listen to your managers..... Most of you have ur degrees in running companies but don't understand what it's like to work in a store

    Pros

benefits are great but thats about it.

    Cons

the company constantly changes and whats funny is they will tell you this up front( its even apart of their "credo") but what they don't tell you is change 99% of the time = less money. the company a few years ago was a great place to work. i've been with them for over 5 years and have seen tons of people come and go. what i can tell you is of the people i started the company with most are gone. none of the managers are the same! the hiring process is a joke. if your best friends with the right person you will get promoted or hired. this company is no longer a cell phone company, it cant make up its mind what it wants to do. let me break down how your first year will go. training you will think Verizon is the best thing ever. you'll go through your ups and downs for a few months then you realize all the meetings, including the meetings on your days off that u still have to go to are pointless, insane schedule of retail, and dealing with a joke of a management system are NOT worth your time. find something else like i'm trying to do!

    Advice to Management

they need to clean house and stop with the favoritism because its out of control. have the decision makers work in a retail store for a day or two then they will know what its like to sell the POINTLESS products they want us to push. ALSO DONT FORGET WHO MAKES YOU MONEY, TREAT US WITH SOME RESPECT AND START TO PAY US WHAT WE DESERVE.

    Pros

Discount on Wireless service, some decent training, and access to new devices were the best things about working for VZW.

    Cons

Customer service culture promotes lying to the customer. Honesty and integrity were less important in review/performance metrics than perceived friendliness to the customer. Upselling equipment to irate customers, Really????

    Advice to Management

    Change.
