Current Employee - Retail Sales Representative in Kaneohe, HI

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fantastic pay and benefits for the type of work you do. Performance based. Many opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Too much oversight by too many people. horrible work/life balance in the retail channel. Even though it is only 40hrs, the hours are retail. You can't really live your life without notifying your manager of everything because they have to make sure there is coverage. WAY TOO MANY METRICS. WAY TOO MANY STEPS IN THE SALES PROCESS. Goals are counterintuitive to sales process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simplify and streamline. Be customer focused, or volume focused. Pick one. You can't do both. Telling reps to get to know each customer as an individual, then requiring them to "hit their points" is counterproductive.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
