I worked at Verizon Wireless

Pros

I liked the benefits and the pay. They gave you yearly performance based bonuses of 2-8%. As well as you had potential for 10-15% in crease through overtime. And of course free work device and discounted personal lines.

Cons

Hours and limited opportunities for growth. In the store you were locked into retail hours which had mandatory black out ( non vacation) periods. This was usually from November to February. And you opportunities where either service or sell based and whatever benefits the company first. Sometimes the goals where very difficult to reach and customers can be very difficult to deal with at times.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Day 1 benefits, Health care , 401k, pre pay schooling for furthering education 8000 a year.

    Cons

High stress level call center environment will burn you out within 3 years. Working in tech support requires great skill as you are the last line, we fix things hate having to sell Add a lines and other products as I signed up to fix problems not be in telesales. That is why I am looking to leave now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If a customer has been on the phone with customer service 20 minutes to an hour then transferred to tech support for another 20-60 minutes why would you ask tech support to try to sell them something? To me as a customer I am already feeling irritated and want to get on with my life.
