Pros

They offer great benefits - full health insurance from day 1 - no probation period. Great 401K matching program, and short term performance based incentives.

Cons

Their expectations for Customer Service positions in the call centers are unrealistically high, and their scheduling is very rigid. Only a certain amount of time per month is allotted for "personal" time off the phones, i.e. bathroom breaks outside of scheduled lunches and 15 minute breaks. Exceeding this reflects negatively on your monthly performance review. It can often feel like you are chained to the desk, as every second off the phone is held against you. It is a very high stress position, but I think that is the nature of most call center jobs, and not unique to Verizon Wireless.

Advice to Management

Sometimes after a particularly hard call, people need a short break to regroup so they can do their best to help the next customer, but doing so is highly discouraged and penalized, which leads to higher levels of stress among employees.

    Pros

Decent pay and popularity of company leads to good number of customers.
A lot of advertising and endorsing is done to bring in customers

    Cons

Not enough products are delivered to the store.
When popular products are released, many people are interested in buying this product. However, due to the limited supply, the store cannot make any profit.

  2. Great benefits and pay but little to no work/life balance

    Pros

-Benefits are what keeps most employees here in my opinion.
-Good pay (Was better when we didn't have to lose our integrity to make money)
-Get to meet a lot of great people.

    Cons

-It's a retail environment so don't expect to have great hours or see your family.
-Upper Management could care less about the people in the frontlines (retail staff)
-Ridiculous expectations or goals for pay structures. Commision structure has changed more in the last year than in the 7+ years I've worked.
-Verbal abuse from customers and management.
-No vertical movement unless you know the right people.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the way it was when your customers and employees were people and not numbers.
