I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Benefits
    Retirement Account with match
    Discount on goods and services

    Cons

Leadership doesn't buy into new ideas. The old guard is still alive and well. All those cool Verizon commercials you see about "powerful answers"...they're BS. There are no powerful answers here, only powerful people who want you to SELL SELL SELL.

If you aren't selling, then you're dead to leadership. If you are selling, but you disagree with leadership or question them, you're dead.

HR is a joke and is only there to make sure the company doesn't get sued.

Unless you are in the area of a major Verizon regional HQ, opportunities are extremely limited.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You already know what needs to happen. Change the culture, move the culture away from pushing products on customers. Don't penalize employees because someone didn't want to buy. You tried to do this with the Earn The Right process, but your district managers mucked it up because they're too hard up on sales numbers still. It's time to clean house, bring in some upper managers from companies that TRULY know what its like to put the customer first.
