I have been working at Verizon Wireless part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Decent base salary, unique and effective commission structure which makes you profitable and knowledgable simultaneously, industry-leading benefits and tuition assistance (payes up-front!), family-like environment like none other when dealing with commissioned jobs.

Cons

Type A personality or nothing. This is the environment. If you're shy around others and don't do well talking with new people, you will simply be eaten alive by your managers and coworkers first, then your clientele. Chess team captain with no personality gets you promoted from sales rep to customer in a couple of months!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It should be at the discretion of store management whether or not a small business deal should be transitioned to the B2B sales department. It is unfair that a sales rep should lose half of his new lines simply because the company "doesn't feel like they can handle it". Leave us be.

Senior management, do us that favor. Much appreciated!

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The best part of that job was the training. It went on for four weeks and it was pretty good information. After training though everything goes down hill from there.

    Cons

Horrible hours.Horrible pay, and horrible callers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

try to change shifts more often. If you have a bad shift Wed-Mon for instance, is very easy to get burned out fast and hate the job. Maybe a two-three month maximum would work better. then you feel like there is something to live for.

    Pros

Pay is good for someone starting out in sales. Commission makes up for low hourly pay.

    Cons

Management changes often and it is difficult to keep motivated when the goals change every month.
