They don't recognize years of hard work and will fire you for anything.

I worked at Verizon Wireless

Pros

Pays fairly well. You make life long friendships with your colleagues. That's it.

Cons

Everything. Executive leadership favoritism, micro management, judgmental senior leadership and they will separate you from the company for no reason. As an exempt employee, in retail store management, I was made to work over 40 hours per week by my direct supervisor and the supervisor above. It will happen to those of you too who will be in retail management.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of your corporate security, they make up stories and will use those fictional stories to fire you. Get your facts straight. Human Resources is good. Fix senior leadership in the Northern California/Nevada Region, especially in the South Region. Recognize your hard working employees, commission payout is not what they say it is.

Quit hiring managers that to lord over sales people and torment them to sell when they could not sell water to someone dying of thirst.

Over the period of 17 years as an employee, upper mgmt has a closed door policy and does not share info with employees.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless

    Pros

Working in the West and not being close to HQ bureacracy. Legacy AirTouch employees kept the good rappore and shared news as heard and worked well as a team.

    Cons

Extremely poor leadership and no interest in skip level meetings or listening to employee feedback and follow through.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know your employees. Walk the walk.
