Pros

You're exposed to the latest web technologies. There are many opportunities to learn new systems and the latest and greatest coding technologies (if you're a developer). Developers have the best chance of being converted from contractor to employee.

Cons

They bring in most people as contractors, at which point you're used and abused. Employees are told to give the crappier assignments to the contractors, but the contractors are just happy to have a job in this economy so they take it. Majority of workers are from India and will work endless hours, as most don't have family here. The Indians are seen as better workers because they don't have the same constraints as the American workers who have families and want a work-life balance. They'll work night and day, weekends and holidays. Most of my Indian co-workers were wonderful people, but it's difficult to have a positive view of a company that mostly hires foreign workers when so many Americans are jobless.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some of the $2 billion that you spend on advertising and put it into upgrading your internal systems. VZW is a communications company with internal communications problems, so spend some time and $ on fixing what's broken. In the end all that anyone in Sr. Management cares about is gaining more market share than AT&T. While that's the company's goal, it causes many to overlook the crappy processes and lousy internal communications that are screaming to be fixed or replaced.

    Pros

You will recieve good benefits, plenty of hours and there are oppurtunities to get promoted. A lot of young co workers help as well.

    Cons

There are periods of time when the business is slow and that in return hurts your commission. There are times when you have to stand for long periods of time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please continue to hire young and talented talent. The structure of how customers are greated and served needs to be improved so we can get people in and out.
