I have been working at Verizon Wireless

Pros

good company good money for no college degree

Cons

more lenient on sick time and finals are too long for 9 months

Advice to ManagementAdvice

review time on finals and emphasize that for people with no degree or first timers in work force you won't get these kind of benefits anywhere else.

    I worked at Verizon Wireless

    Pros

Nice place to learn about all the cool smartphone tricks and games. Goof off and play Angry Birds or whatever when not helping customers.

    Cons

Everyone seemed to hate most the customers. The "My phone just broke into a million pieces and it's your fault or "Why can't I get a new phone for free if I dropped this one in my coffee!!? or you messed up my bill" -type people ate up a ton of the salespeople's time. Can't tell you how many times someone in sales would ask me what a customer that just walked in wanted and if it wasn't a new phone they'd sneak back to the back or tell me to call one of the rookies up. Store Mngt is made up of a bunch of first timers who were good at making sales and have little clue how to drive sales or run the store -so they babysit and tell customers off that salespeople can't.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seperate your salespeople's main function from CSR's. Flush out managers who are just there to babysit and tinker with customers' phones. Train your salespeople a little better. Simple FAB techniques would have gone a long way in that store.
