Pros

I liked my specific job, but can't really point to many reasons why.

Cons

Management is clueless; they constantly lie about the financial stability of the company; they are clueless on how to develop business; there are way too many chiefs and not enough indians. Printing won't be around in the next few years, so the company will be sold off in pieces.

Advice to Management

Figure out a business development strategy, get rid of the political climate where everyone in middle management is working harder to build their own "fiefdom" rather than build a strong company that satisfies employees.

Friendly co-workers, reasonable job expectations, plant location, adequate break periods, decent pay rates, co-operation between various departments, occasional company lunches or picnics

    Cons

poor benefits, lack of raises, non-existant praise from management, over-worked during the busy season, certain departments get preferential treatment, management pressure during busy season, change temporary worker policy

    Advice to Management

thank your employees once in a while, plan company gatherings/trips, keep workers better informed of compensation changes, train new workers more thoroughly

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, relaxed dress code, no micro management at remote locations, ability to do your own thing, decent pay

    Cons

Bad industry, paycuts, lost benefits, forced furoughs, dying business, no training, no room to advance or grow, old and outdated equipment

    Advice to Management

Reward your employees with praise and promotion opportunities, invest in newer equipment and training, try to find another way to get things done because printing presses are dying. Go to internet based advertising and marketing
