Pros – This is what you would call a “young” company, home to a lot of energetic, ambitious 20-30 somethings who work hard, play hard and know how to succeed. There is a lot of energy in the building, things are fast paced and always moving. If you like doing the same thing every day and have a hard time dealing with change this may not be the place for you.
Everyone here feels like they are part of the "family". We do a lot of fun things as a company, from picnics to company parties, both “sponsored” and “un-sponsored” events. The people here are close, both in and outside the office.
This is a mortgage company but once you walk in the door you won’t find a stuffy bank. You will find flip-flops instead of ties. You might see someone playing hopscotch down the hall as they go to a meeting or get a glimpse of a RESPA queen wearing a tiara as she delivers paperwork to a Loan Officer. People here know how to have fun but that’s not to say they goof off. This company has been incredibly successful, growing at an unbelievable rate. Company founders Brant and Brock Bukowsky have garnered three Inc 500 Awards and in 2007 VA Mortgage Center was named as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States.
This company, and the people who work here are very community oriented; we do a lot of work with various charities in mid-Missouri including the United Way, Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Coyote Hill Children’s Home. We also work with a lot of Veterans organizations. It may be a bit cliché but if feels good to work with people who know it’s more important to give than to receive.
This is a very special place. VA Mortgage Center.com is the best and most successful company I have ever worked for. It has been fun to see how far we have come and will be a fun ride to see where we end up. From Inc 500 to Fortune 500? I wouldn’t put it past us.
Cons – The mortgage business can be stressful. The people who are successful here definitely have a work-hard, play hard attitude.
Advice to Senior Management – Take advantage of every opportunity. Keep growing. Stay positive. Empower your employees to take things to the next level ... in other words ... Keep doing what you are doing!
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
