Pros

Very casual environment, super talented and cool lower level people, decent pay.

Cons

Unless you are "in" with someone up in the company, don't expect to get anywhere. The execs let people under them (usually middle management) get away with everything. Even if you go to HR. Nothing happens. Working for one of the operating companies might be different (eg one of the channels).

Advice to Management

LIsten to the constructive criticism of all people at all levels. Take performance reviews more seriously.

    Pros

You are exposed to the latest trends in media, you are invited to hear performances from the hottest artists of today and you are part of a company who is leading the TV industry by setting trends.

    Cons

Since this is such a big organization, it's very difficult to move up. Unless someone leaves, one could remain in an assistant/low level position for two years.

    Advice to Management

Take a stronger role in managing freelance works. HR needs to be more involved and project based employees should be evaluated each year and considered for other jobs within the company once work is no longer available for them.

  2. Overall good major media company. A great place to get a lot of broad experience especially for recent college grads.

    Pros

Opportunity to move from one division to another. Gives employees a broad base of different experiences with a wide variety of brands/audiences.

    Cons

Certain divisions are not held accountable for poor performance.

    Advice to Management

Promote based on employee merit and talent not favoritism.
