I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (less than an year)

Pros

The discount is good, the job attracts fun/energetic people

Cons

Working holidays is never fun in any job, but it is retail so that part is expected. The biggest problem I have found with the company is the in-store management teams. There is not enough professionalism. Girls quit very often because they are treated badly. Others are promoted to positions based on their friendship with the managers and not their quality of work or level of readiness for such a position. I have heard from associates at other stores that this problem with in-store management is widespread.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers should be trained properly, act professionally, and their behavior should be to a standard that reflects the salary and benefits they earn. They often act so catty and unprofessional, you would assume they earned the barely above minimum wage that is payed to the sales associates.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Unique co-workers, friendly staff and discounted high-end merchandise. Great for students who need a little extra income and enjoy working around a lot of people. Strong culture of honesty and integrity, which is useful to grow a well-rounded member of society and prepare them for their next job!

    Cons

Management treats associates as incredibly expendable assets, randomized work schedule that does not allow for a steady life (hard to ballance with another job, or school, or personal life for that matter). Pay is minimal for amount of work done, and internal mobility is practically unheard of unless you're favored by management.

One red-flag: High Employee Turnover rate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more time in training your associates, and stop being so condescending when engaging them in any form of conversation. It will dramatically improve your employee turnover rate.
