I worked at Virginia Tech part-time

Pros

Higher starting wage, money given for free lunch, good managers, training and advancement opportunities, stable schedule and weekends off (usually)

Cons

No benefits unless salaried, hard to get full time hours, must only eat food provided by the establishment, heavy customer traffic, repetitive tasks, upper management will always prioritize students (employees and customers) over wage and salary workers.

I have been working at Virginia Tech

    Pros

Great town, food, and people. The administration clearly tries to instill a sense of pride in Virginia Tech and the "Hokie Nation". It's a powerful message and as a young student you can quickly immerse yourself in the Hokie culture. Solid education if you pick the right program.

    Cons

sometimes feels like a business not an educational institution. Some advisers are lackluster at their jobs. Additionally, some if not all of the professors are involved in research that occasionally result in them caring less about the students.
