I worked at Visa Inc. full-time (more than an year)

Pros

A satisfaction of a large company with a guaranteed business model and market ownership does make one feel good.

Cons

A lot of employees are quite complacent and are lifers who focus on things other than workplace.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Agility in workplace and continuous challenges are needed, otherwise the place is becoming rapidly like a bureaucracy.

    I worked at Visa Inc. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    I could not find much. but the best thing is you do a 9 to 5 standard job. Ideally should not get sucked like a typical silicon valley company.

    Cons

    Processes makes it tough to do your work. General engineering not as smart as you are used to. They have a lot of money power so you can see a lot of worthless people sitting holding their job

    I worked at Visa Inc. as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

    Great company with its legal problems in the past;
    Industry Leader

    Cons

    Lots of silos where headcount retention and budget are over-leveraged;
    Marketing influences all decisions (whether Marketing is qualified to be a prime influencer or not).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    PMP for Project and Program Managers is not the Holy Grail. Experienced people with diverse backgrounds, emotional intelligence and versatility bring more innovation and proactive perspective.
