Because of its small size there is an opportunity to wear many hats. You know everyone in the halls. Family friendly, relatively good work-life balance. The people at Vision are knowledgeable and friendly

Cons

There is a strong drive towards getting things done in any way possible without looking long term to possible consequences or towards profitability. Communication and documentation are scant. Vision does not have all the right people in the right seats but can't make the hard choice to remove non-performers. In a down economy, bad management choices have lead to the departure of key personnel.

Advice to Senior Management

Senior leadership cannot be conflict adverse and must learn to make difficult choices. Managers need to manage and learn to delegate, Management must "walk the talk" in order for policies and procedures to succeed. In order for the company to grow, consider looking at the business flows and become more efficient before trying to add more business. One does not build more building without shoring up the foundation.
