I have been working at Visiting Nurse Service of New York full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Largest & oldest home care company in the country. There was a feeling of trust between Senior Managment and the employees. We were a team with the best product, clinicians, education department, etc. We were far from perfect but everyone worked to help improve the health and well being of our customers. Everyone wanted to work for VNSNY.

    Cons

Lies regarding lay-offs; poor planning & rollout for new work fliows. CEO/ President announced her resignation and was gone in 24hours. Company loyalty is gone, many of the experienced business and clinical professionals were either let go or just left. CHOICE almost ruined the entire company; and it's not over. The president for CHOICE is still under investigation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show that you respect the employees and yourself: Be more transparent and honest. Stop acting like everything is minor when it's really major; it will take years to rebuild VNSNY reputation. 35 million is a large hit for any company, even for the once "Gold standard in Home Care".
