Pros

The aerospace industry is interesting and challenging. This industry will be around for some time to come making it fairly stable when you factor out economic swings. As more work transitions overseas, the opportunity for international travel is growing. Vought is in a position to expand following the current economic downturn. Vought has a nice mix of commercial and military work with customers and suppliers located domestically as well as abroad. If you're young, the opportunities are substantial. the average age of the workforce is approaching 60 years old. Within 5 to 10 years a substantial part of the workforce, especially management, will be retiring.

Cons

The industry is subject to swings in the economic climate. When the economy is down, airlines cut back on purchases which impact trickles down to Vought. The military side of the business model is alway subject to swing depending on the political climate.

Advice to Senior Management

Plan for the long term.. Managing the company one quarter at a time has been disastrous for the past 8 years.
