Current Employee – been working at W.L. Gore
Pros – The pay is typically lower than jobs in Phoenix however the ESOP is one of the highest in the industry. Gore puts 15% away for your retirement with nothing required from the employee. If you want to live in Flagstaff, AZ than you or your spouse will work at Gore.
Cons – The company moves slowly and is typically reactive. Most projects outside of new product development only get support when serious issues are found in external or internal audits.
The culture looks good on paper and many people spend their entire day telling you about the culture however most middle and upper management don't practice the culture.
Pay increases are tied to contribution with your peers ranking you however I've found my increases flat at 3% regardless of how many projects I complete or how many hours i put in. This leads alot of employees to do only what is necessary to keep their job and no more.
Advice to Senior Management – Enterprise leadership team needs to spend more time in Flagstaff. The culture needs to be modified to reflect the actual culture.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
