Current Employee – been working at W.L. Gore full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Gore is a great place to be an engineer because the products are usually best-in-class and involve interesting technology. The medical products are saving lives every day which is very rewarding to be a part of. The work-life-balance is great and I don't feel overworked or stressed. I feel like my compensation is responsive to the contribution I make. I like that the company is private and so we aren't pressured to provide ever increasing quarterly results, etc.
Cons – The company has grown a lot and there are some growing pains with that. Gore is also a pretty conservative company, I think, so some may not be satisfied with the level of responsiveness to competitive pressures.
Advice to Senior Management – "We don't have managers"
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
