Pros

Unique corporate culture.
Small, independent, employee-owned.
Smart, hard working colleagues.
Travel.
Generous raises and bonuses for good employees, even in a tough economy.
Job security. This company has never had layoffs. Never!

Cons

Travel can also be a con in this job.
A small company can mean that you have to do work that your assistant does at another company.

I have been working at W.W. Norton full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is potential here. There are some good people here.

    Cons

This is one big clique that is based on alcohol and a cult-like atmosphere. You will be over promised and under served. You will be expected to accept low pay for the privilege to work here. The systems are antiquated and slow. The methods are scripted and backwards. If you do not drink at the all night parties at meetings, you will be an outcast. Your iphone and ipad will track your location and you cannot download any app that is not approved or they will shut off the device. If either device gets damaged, you pay for it. You will be told exactly what to say, what to do, and worked to death. if you complain, or get hurt and need time to recover, you will be forced out. You will be given a junk car to drive. The Norton cult members will tell you how great the company is, but unless you abandon your own ideas and become programmed, you will not survive. Micromanagement is the norm here. You will see the potential but be frustrated that you cannot take advantage of that. The industry is dying and this company is not immune to that.
