I worked at WD Partners

Pros

The best reason to work for WD Partners is that you can get some of experience needed for professional registration, and they pay for registration exams. They have limited project types (retail/restaurants) that typically are in different parts of the country, so there is little hope to get all professional Intern Development Program or Engineer In Training requirements completed at WD Partners. There are little to no design or construction observation opportunities at WD Partners, as most of the design and construction observations are done by clients (or other third-parties). The only other good reason to work at WD Partners is that they have good PTO and work-life balance. No one ever works over 40 hours in a week.

Cons

Managers do not respect professional registration or experience, as it is not necessary for the business model or projects. Most work is done with associates with no professional registration and little to no review by those signing or sealing drawings. There are very limited types of project types (retail/restaurants) and a lot of roll-out and respetitive work (typically are in different parts of the country), so there is little hope to get all professional Intern Development Program or Engineer In Training requirements completed at WD Partners.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of clients better if you want to get more work. Client were never respected or taken care of by the right people.

I worked at WD Partners full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The first thing one notices when they visits WD Mumbai is its impressive working setup. Work culture was of international standards previously and employee benefits were good. Team members are professional and supportive.

    Cons

With a strong backing from US, WD has a very high potential to establish itself for Indian Clients. However In-Country presence is of low priority for management. As a result WD Mumbai today is merely a Drafting Company for WD USA. Talent retention is poor and most employees feel their career had a drop by joining WD Mumbai.

Poor top management and nobody is responsible for something

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't close the HK rep. office with such a short notice and business needs time to grow.
