Pros

Amazing resources, good sort term (1-2yr) learning opportunities for intro level engineers. Clean and well stocked facilities for employees and visitors. They mean well but fall on there faces often.

Cons

There is no accountability, processes or procedures to follow. The work place is stressful and VERY Political. Management is spineless and would not block upper managements polices from reaching the employees therefore making it a stressful and inefficient place to work. production parts are not checked before shipping and are often not made to print. shop scrap rate is very very high. WET has to charge outrageous prices for there products to over come all the scrap and inefficiencies along with there guaranteed field rework. WET claims to be a lean company but doesn't have a shop rate calculated, products cost with labor is unknown, and they don't count building spares and storing them for 6 months before 5'sing them as scrap. Appears that they would layoff employees by pulling names out of a hat. layoffs had not much to do with a workers dedication or qualifications.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be informative to the CEO. You are the CEOs executives, your job is to help him make informed, smart decisions, not to be spineless and never challenge his decisions because your protecting your paychecks. The Businesses success depends on you gathering CORRECT information for a good decision to be made. your biggest assets are your employees not your machines. Try laying off one of your 30+ CNC machines instead of over working the skeleton work staff.

WET Design - Super expensive projects due to horrendous waste

    Pros

Clients still hire them to design and build fountains. They build pretty features, but everything is done very expensively, and not necessarily to a high level of quality.

    Cons

Projects are way over-priced. One visit to their facilities will show you how they spend all that money. Incredible attention to appearances and how everything looks. A short time on their manufacturing floor will show you how the money goes down the drain. Incredible waste of time and materials due to poor planning, poor communication, multiple rework, and scrapping of hardware. Lack of communication and finger pointing when problems arise is rampant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show some backbone and true leadership. Start treating employees with respect and not as pawns that get sacrificed at the first sign of trouble.

WET Design - horribly mismanaged company

    Pros

They have a nice end product, which looks good. Appearance is very important to this company. They have a good public image.

    Cons

Extreme micromanagement by CEO. People scream and yell about things and then never follow through themselves to solve a problem. The same problems seem to occur over and over again.

CEO surrounds himself with incompetent brown-nosers, and fires good people based on emotions. Most employees including the senior level managers are motivated through fear and intimidation. Company has had incredible turn over. People who have been there a long time seem to have figured out how to play the right office politics with the CEO. Office politics is HUGE at WET.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend less time worrying about how to decorate the building, and more time on getting the work done. Spend less effort on personal fashion and outfits, and more time on becoming better team players.
