It was a company that cared about its customers. I think it's a company that tried to do the right things for its customers and employees.
Cons
Wells Fargo bought it, and it's no longer the same company. It's a shadow of what it once was. Management made one big bad decision in buying Golden West, and it killed the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management should have had more direct interaction with the rank and file employees. There was a bit of an ivory tower syndrome. They should make it easier for employees to get things done and support people who try to do things differently
