Wachovia – “It's the good, bad, and the ugly”

Great benefits, set schedule (although that will probably change with the Wells Fargo merger), paid time off and decent pay. The company focuses on the importance of the customer which is what I've always like the most about working there.
Cons
Policies aren't consistently being clear. I transferred several times and in each branch people did things differently. Managers consistently nag you about sales and watch over your shoulder during transactions to do "observations" on your service and if you're following policy. The company has good intentions, (with the exception of their desire for you to sell EVERY customer you come in contact with, which I personally feel is poor customer service - sell to the people who need the product) but they aren't going in the right direction. They absolutely will NOT work with students, so if your classes vary semester to semester, don't get set in a weird schedule at work because they won't work with you. I'm leaving the company now for that very reason and now I have to worry about health insurance and finding a new job that pays well during this terrible economy. If you can work full time and deal with the drama and the constant nagging from overhead this is the job for you as you can't beat the benefits and VACATION time is great! 120 hours per year if you work 40 hours a week.
Advice to Senior Management
Remember to pat us on the back more often as morale in most branches is low, especially with the merger. Make more attainable incentives so that your employees WANT to work for you and stop having us log every single second of every single encounter we have with a customer. Many of my customers realize that I am merely going through the motions and often get annoyed with the fact that I try to sell them something every time they come in the branch. If there's a need to be met I think we should try to meet that need but if there isn't a sale there, why bother someone with their time? When I go to a store I get incredibly irritated when people try to sell me things that I don't need. Wachovia/Wells Fargo seriously needs to think of a better approach of making sales whilst keeping their employees and customers happy and more importantly, stress free.
