Pros

Walgreens paid reasonably well for store management. Benefits were decent. As a store manager, you had the ability to run your own business to a certain degree. Bonuses were good, but they have lowered those tremendously.

Cons

You had to live at the store during the holidays. Poor communication from senior management. Micromanaging from district managers. Too much politics in the workplace. Lowering the bonus structure has the effect of lowering our salaries overall.

Advice to Senior Management

Work in the stores for a week or two every year. Many of the higher level executives have lost touch with the difficulty it takes to run a successful store.
