Former Intern - Anonymous Intern in Miami, FL
Former Intern - Anonymous Intern in Miami, FL

I worked at Walgreens as an intern (less than a year)

Pros

Family-style, the pharmacist and techs were really helpful to new members of the team, always tried to make us learn and enjoy ourselves.

Cons

Very little - if you're looking for the small-town feel and knowing customers personally, that wasn't the case at this Miami Walgreens.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

When it's quiet and there isn't much to do, it wouldn't be the end of the world to let the interns leave early!

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Employee discount is 15% on name brands, 20% on many (but not all) private brands.

    Cons

everything else. "flexible work schedule" typically means working difficult schedules for no apparent reason. Taking any break is highly discouraged. Company moral is extremely poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hey upper management, it would be nice if you all took pay cuts, or perhaps did not get bounses in addition to cutting the wages of all employees from the level of district manager and below. I understand that we could save a lot of money by all making minimum wage, but it would be so much less degrading if the most compensated employees maybe got paid five instead of six million. I will be losing my house, maybe y'all can downsize to a honda civic, especially considering that it was your decision to ruin the company.
